SpaceX Successfully Launches 23 Starlink Satellites

SpaceX successfully launched 23 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit on May 20, 2025, at 11:19 p.m. EDT (May 21, 8:49 a.m. IST), from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This mission utilized a brand-new Falcon 9 rocket, marking its inaugural flight. Notably, the launch had been delayed by a day due to an abort just before liftoff on May 19 .

Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, the rocket's first stage successfully landed on the drone ship "Just Read the Instructions" stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This achievement underscores SpaceX's commitment to reusability, even with newly commissioned boosters. The 23 Starlink satellites were deployed into orbit about 65 minutes post-launch .

This launch contributes to SpaceX's ongoing efforts to expand its Starlink broadband constellation, aiming to provide global internet coverage, including in remote and underserved regions.
